Identity

What lies within us

What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.

Self esteem

Let someone love you just the way you are – as flawed as you might be, as unattractive as you sometimes feel, and as unaccomplished as you think you are. To believe that you must hide all the parts of you that are broken, out of fear that someone else is incapable of loving what is less than perfect, is to believe that sunlight is incapable of entering a broken window and illuminating a dark room.

Multiple identities

Each contemporary person is, dare I say, a jumble of identities (take me for instance: I am Palestinian, Arab, culturally Muslim, and, having lived most of my adult life in Britain, western and British. What a mess, you might say!). Much of the trouble in the world today stems from failure to reconcile such multiple identities...

From roots to buds

In every conceivable manner, the family is link to our past, bridge to our future.

The enemy is stupid : he thinks that we are the enemy, when in fact it's him!

Pierre Desproges, French humorist (1939-1988)
