A founding moment: the signature in Côte d’Ivoire
It all began with a simple vision: “Peace must be learned from school onwards.” But the most memorable moment remains etched in the memory of founder Delia Mamon: “In 2012, at the signing of the first national educational agreement in Côte d’Ivoire, in front of 200 people… I realized the enormity of it: our very first educational project was for an entire country.”
During the first training sessions that follow, the human impact is immediately apparent. A 55-year-old Ivorian teacher bursts into tears after a teaching activity: “It’s the first time someone has recognized a quality in me and told me so.”
Profound transformations
Since then, countless testimonials have confirmed the power of this approach. “My wife, my children, my students… everyone tells me they see a difference in their behavior”, confided one teacher after just two days of training.
This pedagogy, inspired by UNESCO’s educational principles, has transformed thousands of classrooms in Switzerland, Côte d’Ivoire and Benin. It has earned the organization double international recognition: the Smart Peace Prize in 2019 and the UNESCO-Hamdan Prize in 2022.

Graines de Paix is therefore preparing for the next 20 years with a clear ambition: to put digital technology and artificial intelligence at the service of its mission. Today, by creating digital resources accessible to all. Tomorrow, by offering educational artificial intelligence solutions capable of providing concrete support to teachers, without ever replacing the human dimension.
