Graines de Paix implements programs in Switzerland and West Africa, working with schools, teachers and communities. Each program adresses specific educational needs, from primary to secondary education and adapts to local contexts to provide lasting support to education stakeholders.

Transforming schools and teaching practices

These programs support teachers and and school leaders in evolving classroom practices and school culture.

Growing up in Peace I Switzerland – Primary (ages 4-12)

A reference program for primary education, supporting teachers in creating a structured and calm classroom climate through cooperative activities, practical tools and classroom routines that encourage every student’s participation.

Living Together in Harmony I Switzerland – Secondary (ages 12-15)

A continuing professional development program for secondary school teachers and school leaders, supporting the adoption of educational practices that enhance the quality of interactions, prevent violence and foster a safe and respectful school climate.

Better School for Girls I Benin – Primary

A national program strengthening the quality of teaching and teacher training to improve foundational learning and promote the equitable participation of girls and boys. It supports the transformation of classroom practices and the sustainable integration of more inclusive educational standards.

Learning in Peace, Educating without Violence I Benin – Primary

A Ministry-led program for primary schools in Benin, supporting teachers in adopting more positive and inclusive educational practices while strengthening foundational learning in mathematics and French.

Supporting young people in their personal development

These programs provide adolescents with a supportive framework to better understand themselves, develop interpersonal skills and build autonomy.

Adolescents

AdoGoZen I Switzerland – After-school (ages 11-16)

A socio-educational program for youth centers in Switzerland. It provides adolescents with a supportive framework to develop interpersonal skills and better understand their emotions. Youth leaders and facilitators are trained to lead activities and ensure continuity across different youth settings.

Living Together in Harmony I Switzerland – Secondary (ages 12-15)

A program for secondary school classes in Switzerland. It provides teachers with approaches and tools to facilitate participatory classroom workshops, helping adolescents better understand their emotions, strengthen interpersonal skills and improve group dynamics.

These programs bring teachers, families and communities together around shared educational goals. They help strengthen consistency across the different environments in which children grow up — a key condition for their well-being and success.

Better School for Girls I Benin – Primary

This program engages parents and communities to support girls’ schooling, prevent dropouts and strengthen educational continuity between school and home.

Learning in Peace, Educating without Violence I Benin – Primary

This program engages parents and local community stakeholders to strengthen dialogue between school, family and community, promote positive educational practices and create an environment conducive to learning.

Each of our programs is built around a set of practical tools — guides, structured activities, visual aids and training modules — designed for direct use in the field. Integrated into national training systems, these tools support the adoption of practices and ensure their long-term dissemination.
