Charles Barucq
Legal Advisor
After several years teaching at the University of Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne, Charles Barucq practiced law at the Paris Bar for thirty-five years. He was later appointed as a temporary magistrate at the Pontoise Judicial Court, where he served in both civil and criminal chambers.
His experience in juvenile criminal justice heightened his awareness of the educational challenges involved and of the need to strengthen learning around respect, consideration for others and a culture of peace. He now works alongside Graines de Paix to support this mission.
Through my work with young offenders, I became acutely aware of the limits of traditional educational models. In many cases, issues of respect, consideration for others and shared values had not been sufficiently addressed. Discovering Graines de Paix convinced me that education grounded in respect, fraternity and a culture of peace is a powerful lever for preventing violence and social breakdown. This conviction led me to commit alongside the Foundation.
