Delia Mamon

President

With a long-standing interest in peace and education, Delia Mamon founded the NGO Graines de Paix in 2005 in Geneva, Switzerland, which became a Foundation in 2021 and for which she is the president.

Delia Mamon was a senior executive in international marketing strategy for high technology in several European countries, after working as an economist at the OECD. She has a double degree:

  • Political Economy, then preparatory studies for the NSA at the University of Panthéon-Sorbonne, Paris
  • Languages and political philosophy at the University of Paris-Sorbonne.

Education has always been for me much more than reading, counting and memorising. It is the art of stimulating students, making them think, giving them values and meaning, valuing and appreciating them, teaching them reciprocity. But today there is no peace in the classroom or in society. Students are so disturbed that it has become difficult to teach, difficult to succeed academically, difficult to imagine themselves as citizens. Yet students are empowered when they are given the opportunity to express themselves, to develop their human and social skills, to learn the dynamics of peace to restore harmony.
