“A Better School for Girls” project with UNICEF
Partner of the Ministry of National Education, Technical Education and Vocational Training (MENET-FP) since 2012, Graines de Paix is once again working alongside local authorities to conduct a new large-scale project: "A Better school for girls.” This mission is part of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) #4 and concerns girls as much as boys.
A continuous Education Program in Education for a Culture of Peace
In 2012, the MENET-FP asked for the support of Graines de Paix to set up a continuous education program for pre-school and elementary school teachers demonstrating how education and educative initiatives can be used to foster a culture of peace.
The Consolidation of Education for Peace in the Ivorian School System
In 2016, Grains of Peace (Graines de Paix) renewed its agreement with the Ministry of National Education of Technical Education and Vocational Training (MENET-FP) in order to consolidate the contributions of Education to the culture of peace in the Ivorian education system. Grains of Peace has thus become a technical partner in the reform of initial teacher training, and ensures the inclusion of Education for the Culture of Peace in the first year of future teachers' training.
Learn in Peace and Educate Without Violence in the Tonkpi region (2017-2019)
In 2017, Graines de Paix initiated the 16th cycle of continuing education in the Tonkpi region. This is a key program because it concerns the first cycle whose results were evaluated. An international research team from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine studied the real impacts of the training provided by observing the behavioral changes in teachers inferred from teachers and students.
“Neither Hedgehog Nor Doormat” in the Ivory Coast
The exposition, which has proved successful in Switzerland since 2004, will start running in autumn 2018 in primary schools in the Ivory Cast.
Program
Since 2012 Grains of Peace has worked in partnership with the Minister of National Education (MNE) of Côte d'Ivoire to make this vision a reality. Over the past 3 years it has implemented a national peace education program, which aims to make dialog, cooperation, respect, and inclusion the new school norms.
