The 2022 UNESCO-Hamdan Prize awarded to Graines de Paix Foundation

The prestigious "UNESCO-Hamdan Prize for Teacher Development" has rewarded, for the first time, a Swiss NGO, the Graines de Paix Foundation, in this 7th edition. This prize recognizes our "innovative approach" in the redesign of teacher training that ministries are looking for.

The prestigious "UNESCO-Hamdan Prize for Teacher Development" has rewarded, for the first time, a Swiss NGO, the Graines de Paix Foundation, in this 7th edition.

This prize recognizes our "innovative approach" in the redesign of teacher training that ministries are looking for. Our pedagogy is being implemented in Benin and Côte d'Ivoire, while simultaneously being developed in Switzerland.

This is a major breakthrough for Switzerland in the field of international education.

Côte d’Ivoire: So that Girls Complete Their Schooling

Since the year 2000, the Ivoirian government has made numerous efforts in girls’ education. Although young Ivoirian girls have good access to school, there is still a significant drop-out problem. It is on this strong statement from the Ministry of Education that Graines de Paix has pushed to define its goal: “Our goal is to ameliorate school conditions for girls” explained our project manager.

The first Smart Peace Prize was awarded on May 13, 2019 to the Swiss NGO Graines de Paix, during an evening in the French Senate in front of an audience of 200 high-ranking officials, including Mr. Jean-Pierre Raffarin, former Prime Minister and Founding President of the Leaders for Peace Foundation, and Gérard Larcher, President of the French Senate.

''To be or not to be'' concert to benefit Graines de Paix

Young Swiss pianist Joseph-Maurice Weder is playing for our NGO. The pianist’s upcoming tour, where he performs works by Liszt and Schumann, is coming to the Madeleine Theatre in Geneva mid-May. Weder’s profits from the concert will be donated to Graines de Paix.

May 13th, 8pm. Madeleine Theatre (Théâtre de la Madeleine), in the heart of Geneva.
