“Neither Hedgehog Nor Doormat” in the Ivory Coast

The exposition, which has proved successful in Switzerland since 2004, will start running in autumn 2018 in primary schools in the Ivory Cast.

In addition to Peace Culture Education guides for actors in the education system and educational kits for students, Graines de Paix will also offer the fun exhibition “Neither Hedgehog Nor Doormat” to Ivorian schools.

Designed in partnership with the Cenac (Center for Non-Violent Action) and intended for students aged 4 to 12, this exhibition has run in Switzerland from 2004, where it has been met with great success. Its goal? To promote living well together by offering alternatives to common behaviors that provoke, facilitate or aggravate violence.

Tested in schools in Abidjan and Yamoussoukro at the end of 2017, the exhibition will run beginning in autumn 2018 in primary schools in Côte d’Ivoire. This two-year project (2018-2019) is aimed at schools in Abidjan and teachers from DRENET (Regional Directorate of National Education and Technical Education) that are already trained in Peace Culture Education. Teachers join and support this project because of its utility towards good classroom management and a healthy school climate.
